Following the February 6.3 earthquake 50,000 people working for 6,008 businesses in the CBD were unable to work as a result of damaged buildings and the 75-square city block cordon in the no-go red zone. As of April this year 30%, or 600, of the commercial buildings in central Christchurch have been demolished – with more to come. Where are these business now? How have they survived?
